ASSITEJ Pakistan announces call for applications – 3rd Next Generation Theatre Residecny Program 2020

ASSITEJ Pakistan is committed to engage young aspiring artists and professional theatre-makers from all over the world and Pakistan interested in TYA (Theatre for Young Audiences).

The Next Generation Programme offer new opportunities every year and include Group Residency Programmes and Individual Placements. The programme is designed to create new opportunities for learning and to enable international exchange and collaboration between young emerging artists.

Next Generation brings about 30 artists each year together, 15 from Pakistan and 15 international young theatre makers for one week to learn from each other and co-create short performances.

If you are an emerging artist, storyteller or theatre-maker with an interest in TYA; this is the opportunity for you to learn, work and collaborate with artists as well as experience the historic city of Lahore, and attend various side events during the program.

Date: 26th March – 4th April 2020

Extended Application Deadline: 18 March, 2020
(Open only for Pakistani artists.Applications closed for Interntional artists. )

If you are an emerging artist aged 18-35 with a passion for storytelling and theatre-making along with a track record of making a significant impact in your community, country or organization then you could be part of the upcoming 3rd Next Generation programme.

Open for International and Pakistani applicants

The program offers;

  • Accommodation on a sharing basis for the duration of the programme
  • Food and logistics
  • Local transportation
  • Workshops by eminent performing arts trainers
  • Platform to network with international theatre community
  • Collaborative performance with international artists
  • Cultural tour of Lahore

For Pakistani applicants; (OPEN)

Fee: 25,000 PKR (Fee will only be charged after the selection.)

For International applicants; (APPLICATION CLOSED)

Participants will manage air travel on their own. ASSITEJ Pakistan will support applicants with the invitation and visa letters upon selection.
