Call for Women Performing Artists – International Exchange Program

ASSITEJ Pakistan invites applications from performing artists for exchange and development project with theater and dance companies in Sweden.

The objective of the project is to support artistic and cultural networking for enabling new artistic encounters in performing arts for children and youth.

To encourage the participation of women in performing arts, this year’s call support women artists working in performing arts in Pakistan.

The 10-day visit will include exposure to Swedish theater scene, introduction with Swedish theater groups and exchange with actors, directors and art managers, and closer interaction with Zebra Dans and Pantomim Teatern, Swedish theatre companies, in Stockholm.

The project is presented in collaboration with ASSITEJ Sweden.

  • Food: Self cooking (per diem provided)

Program Requirement:

  • Women Artists from Pakistan
  • At least 5 years of professional experience
  • 22 to 40 years of age
  • Ability of understand and communicate in English
  • Flexible to travel, work and stay with people from diverse backgrounds

Pantomimteatern is a Swedish mime theatre company based in Stockholm at Påfågeln and has been an important part of Swedish theatre since 1977. About Zebradans

In 1999 Lisa Spets founded ZebraDans, the first dance venue for kids and a production company created for dance performances exclusively for children and youths. Our mission is to give the young audiences as good supply of dance as the adult viewers. ZebraDans produce, initiate, arrange, tours and make knowledge-sharing ”assignments”. Our target groups range from infants to teenagers and we reach them through their families, preschools and schools.

ASSITEJ Sweden is official national center of ASSITEJ International. Swedish ASSITEJ works to spread knowledge about Swedish performing arts for children and young people by arranging exchanges, guest games, festivals, workshops and seminars, as well as communicating contacts. Swedish ASSITEJ provides increased knowledge about international performing arts for children and young people.
